National Association for the Self-Employed Grants for Black Men

The National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE) offers grants worth up to $4,000 for its members. These NASE Growth grants are available to small business owners, which can be used to purchase marketing and advertising, hire employees, buy facilities, or other business needs. 

NASE grants are reviewed quarterly, with applications needing to meet the following requirements to be eligible for funding:

  • Details of business needs

  • Explanation of how the funds will be spent on the business

  • The benefits of the grant for solving the business’s needs

  • How the grant funding can increase the business’s growth and success

Two Million New Black Homeowner Program (2MN5)

Offered by the National Association of Real-Estate Brokers (NAREB), the Two Million New Black Homeowner Program (2MN5) aims to address racial disparities in homeownership across the United States. NAREB partnered with LBC Funding to obtain $50 million in down payment assistance funds to support low-to-moderate-income homebuyers purchasing a home.

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) offers a variety of scholarship grants for minority (accounting) students and CPAs.

Here is a list of opportunities available:

  • AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students - $12,000 for minority doctoral students that aim to increase the number of minority CPAs that act as role models and mentors for future generations.

  • PCPS Georgie Willie Diverse Student Scholarship & Internship - up to $10,000 for minority undergraduate or graduate accounting students who are pursuing a CPA license

  • AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students - up to $10,000 available to outstanding undergraduate and graduate minority students planning to acquire a CPA license

Federal Pell Grants

By submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), undergraduate students are eligible to receive grants for their college education. A Federal Pell Grant is unlike a federal or private student loan, as it does not need to be repaid. Eligible award recipients during the 2022-2023 school year may obtain the maximum $6,895 grant.
