Employer FAQ
Do job seekers have to apply through the job board or can we direct them to our website?
When posting a job, you will have the option of allowing applicants to either apply through our job board portal or direct them to your website.
Do graduates and undergrads from all HBCUs have full access to look up jobs on your site or is it based on membership?
Our job board does not require membership for HBCU students and alumni to search opportunities.
How do you connect with undergraduates and graduates from HBCUs?
We’ve been cultivating relationships with HBCUs for the past 17 years. The cornerstones of our outreach strategy include building relationships with faculty across HBCUs, strategic digital marketing, collaborating with HBCU students to raise awareness of our resources on their campus, participating in HBCU job fairs, hosting professional development events and providing consistent career resources. We also engage with the HBCU community through our social media and other media partnerships.
Can employers connect with particular majors or groups?
At the moment we do not offer a service that connects employers with particular majors. Many college graduates do not end up working in a job that directly correlates with their major. As such, we think it’s important to circulate opportunities broadly.
Are there any other ways that I can participate in your network?
Yes! Another great way to connect with our HBCU network is to work with us to create career resources specific to your industry — this could be in the form of partnering for a workshop or for the creation of other professional development tools particular to your industry. Contact us here if you would like to inquire further about a potential partnerships.
I have a job opening, can I send you the job description to be shared with your network?
We encourage employers to post job or internship opportunities to our job board in order to get the maximum benefit of connecting with our network. However, if we know of specific folks in our network that might benefit from your opportunity we will not hesitate to share the opening with them.
Beyond Employment
If you would like to share other opportunities that do not involve employment, please submit your idea to our team here and we will get back to you about other ways that we can collaborate to share your opportunities with HBCU students and alumni.
