The Half Acre Initiative is an expansion of The HBCU Career Center’s mission to democratize professional development resources for students and professionals within the African diaspora who are underrepresented and often left out of the expensive career management market.

This initiative aims to be a catalyst for the growth of workplace and career satisfaction through funding a range of professional development opportunities delivered by small to medium sized enterprises including career coaches, HR professionals, educators, non-profits and accomplished professionals in their own respective fields.

Our Half Acre Initiative supports:

Professional development workshops led by top career coaches and HR professionals across America.

One-on-one career development support through resume reviews, job interview skill training and job strategy sessions from leading career coaches and HR professionals.

HBCU student ambassadors who help spread the word about professional development resources and opportunities on campus.

HBCU campus professional development programming through workshops and printed collateral.

Filling educational gaps at primary and secondary schools in the African diaspora, thereby contributing to global workforce development.
