Building Your Global Career with Garvin Reid

Last month, global talent connector and world traveler, Garvin Reid, joined us for a workshop about how you can build a global career. Currently based in Abu Dhabi, Garvin shares the many gems that he’s gathered from his five and half years of working abroad and 14 years since graduating from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.

About Garvin Reid

Garvin Reid is an Assistant Director of Employer Relations at New York University Abu Dhabi. In his role he does one-on-one career coaching with undergraduate students from all over the world where he helps to guide and prepare them for global careers, most of which begin in the United Arab Emirates. He also manages a team of three which are responsible for a number of events such as career fairs and networking nights which are a means to expose NYUAD students to life beyond their undergraduate experience. Garvin is a graduate of the Higher Education and Student Affairs program at NYU Steinhardt where he earned his Masters degree and Cheyney University of Pennsylvania where he earned his bachelor's degree in Business Management. He is a first generation American born to Jamaican parents in the Bronx, NY. He is currently living in Abu Dhabi with his wife, dog and many plants that he is proud of. He is an avid traveler and photographer.
