Interview Like a P.R.O.

This workshop will speak to the unique challenges that job seekers with 15+ years of work experience may face in job interviews. The HBCU Career Center developed the Interview Like a P.R.O. (ILAP) technique over a decade ago and has coached many groups and individual job seekers to use this interview technique for improved job search outcomes.

Attendees will be introduced to the 3 C’s of Successful Interviewing – Using great Communication skills to speak with Confidence about your Competencies!

This workshop will help you:

- Combat age discrimination in job interviews
- Synthesize years of experience and clarify your expertise
- Know when you have answered the interview question
- Predict the interview questions that you will be asked
- Identify the most appropriate stories to tell in job interviews
- Clearly articulate your roles and responsibilities
- Develop an orientation to speaking about outcomes
- Research and identify what employers are looking for in interviews

Ten attendees will have a chance to do mock interviews with Dr. R. These services are funded by The HBCU Sponsorship for Professional Development.

About Dr. Marcia F. Robinson

Dr. Marcia F. Robinson, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is the CEO of The HBCU Career Center. She’s an award-winning HR and leadership expert who is on a mission to make workplaces more inclusive and to help professionals find welcoming spaces that align with their V.I.S.A. (Values, Interests, Skills and Abilities). She does that by developing innovative and meaningful partnerships between HBCUs and corporations.

She is a researcher on career center effectiveness Workplace Automation through Artificial Intelligence technology. She has experience across Higher Education, Aviation, Hospitality, Technology, and the Public Sector and has been recognized as Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year for her work.
