Are you interested in a consulting career but not sure where to start? On May 26th, The HBCU Career Center partnered with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to host “Knowledge Pays: Learn How”, an event that discussed what it means to lead a career as a Knowledge Analyst. BCG’s hiring managers provided tips on job interviews, connecting with recruiters, and much more during the informative webinar. Below are the key points from the webinar.

What does a Knowledge Analyst at BCG do?

Knowledge Analysts (KA) work on BCG’s Knowledge Team and are subject matter experts that provide knowledge and insights for various businesses. Tasks can include conducting research, developing visualizations, assessing data, and more. BCG’s hiring team mentioned that this position is excellent for professionals looking to work directly with senior leaders. It has room for professional growth and development, which can span to other opportunities within the company.

The Knowledge Team covers a wide range of subject areas.

At BCG, there are a variety of sectors that Knowledge Analysts can specialize in. BCG’s hiring team mentioned that the consulting company has several industry practice areas, such as corporate strategy, global advantage, marketing sales & pricing, operations, people & organization, social impact & climate, and technology advantage. Within each of these broad areas, there are particular industries that Knowledge Analysts might focus on. If someone has a deep level of expertise in a particular area, they can choose to work as a consultant for that industry practice.
