For those who love research, helping businesses solve problems and are interested in pursuing expertise in a particular topic, a career as a Knowledge Analyst could be a fulfilling path. Knowledge Analysts might be experts in topics like Sustainability, Change Management or Digital Media. The list goes on.

Essentially, Knowledge Analysts do the nitty-gritty research to support businesses in making the most beneficial decisions. Fortune 500 companies like Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and McKinsey & Company are regularly hiring Knowledge Analysts for their firms. If you’re considering a career path in knowledge analysis, continue reading to learn more. 

According to Payscale, Knowledge Analysts develop expertise in an established subject matter, provide insights and are responsible for informing business strategy developed by consultants. Additional tasks can include analyzing data, content creation, creating data visualizations, and collaborating with decision-makers to create business strategy. Skills that are most useful to Knowledge Analysts include project management, information management, data analysis, database management, and documentation. 

For Knowledge Analysts with one to four years of experience, the median (or average) base salary in the United States is $63,258 per year. Expert-level professionals with five to nine years of experience can earn $70,000 a year (Payscale).
