Four Black-Owned Job Boards that Advocate for Diverse Staffing
While long overdue, representation in the workplace has become a more popularized topic in recent years. Despite the laws and regulations made to reduce discrimination in the workplace, black and brown professionals still endure racism and lack access to opportunities. Below are several job boards helping professionals find jobs from employers that are making efforts to diversify their workplace.
Blackjobs.com
According to Blackjobs.com, their goal is to advertise top-paying jobs for black professionals to “reduce the high rate of unemployment in black communities.” In addition, employers can post their job openings to the platform for free for candidates to apply.
Jopwell
Porter Braswell and Ryan Williams founded Jopwell after they noticed a need for diverse staffing to bring more job opportunities to underrepresented communities. Working as employees at Goldman Sachs, the duo left to create the job platform. Their mission is to help African Americans, Native Americans, and the Latinx community find workplaces that are inclusive. Students and professionals can create a profile and begin applying to high-level job opportunities.

HBCU Connect provides networking, professional, and educational opportunities for black students to access through their website.
The HBCU Career Center
Founded by Dr. Marcia Robinson, The HBCU Career Center’s mission is to democratize top quality professional development information as much as it is to connect the HBCU community with job and internship opportunities from employers.
