Calling all scientists that care about climate change! Claflin University’s applications are open for their Biotechnology master’s program that starts in August.

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing humanity and its impacts can be felt world-wide. It is a truly global problem which demands a global solution. In keeping with Claflin University’s commitment to training visionary leaders with a global perspective, Claflin University, a Top-Ten HBCU, will be offering a two-year, fully online graduate program leading to a Masters’ Degree in the Biotechnology of Climate Change.

This ten-course (thirty credit-hour) program will lead to a Masters’ Degree in Biotechnology with specific applications to mitigate and/or adapt to the effects of climate change. Taught by Claflin’s award-winning faculty, with extensive research experience, and proven ability to effectively engage with both traditional and non-traditional learners worldwide, this program will teach cutting-edge skills including:

• Genetic engineering of crops for heat and drought resistance

• Plant biotechnology for increased food production

• Structure-based drug design

• Environmental management

• The preparation of vaccines for newly emerging diseases.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and the program starts August 2023.
