Employers are at it Again…

They are telling us what they look for in new college graduates.
For those students who say – “I don’t know what they will ask about in the interview so I can’t prepare”. Now you know.
Every year the National Association of Colleges and Employers surveys members for the list of top behaviors employers say they want in new college graduates. Here are the top five things employers say they will be looking for in the Class of 2011:

  • Verbal Communication Skills
  • Strong Work Ethic
  • Teamwork Skills
  • Analytical Skills
  • Initiative

If you are in the Class of 2011, this is the time to start thinking about your best examples of your strengths in each of these areas. For example, what would your best example be of your teamwork skills? Are you part of the executive board for a campus club? Have you worked on team projects in lab?

If you are in the Class of 2011 and don’t have great examples of each, you still have time before graduation to start brainstorming your examples now.
