3 Tips to End your Internship in Style!

Summer is wrapping up and so is your internship! You should be excited about what you learned and the professional network you developed.

Before you walk away from your internship, here are 3 things you want to do:

1. Get networked! If you haven’t already set up a professional networking site like LinkedIn; now is the time to do it. You want to stay connected with not just staff but your fellow interns.

2. Ask for feedback! Don’t be shy. In fact ask for feedback instead of asking for a letter of reference. You could say something like the following – “Can I get some feedback from you before the end of my internship? I would really value your insight on what I did well or areas where you think I need improvement?”

3. Be strategic! Think about ways to connect the company to your school. Maybe introduce the HR Manager to the Director of the career center on campus? Invite employees to speak at a campus club, meet faculty or do a career center workshop?

Your goal is to build on those great connections and stay professional to the very end!
